Choose your words carefully Luc. World Series or BUST!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything.  Sorry about that.  Been busy.  But I have been inspired today to write by none other than one of my favorite Brewers players, Jonathan Lucroy.  He is the best catcher in baseball right now in my opinion.  He is unbelievable at the plate and behind it.  But his words today on the Bill Michaels show…paraphrased here by 1250 WSSP on social media…”Jonathan Lucroy told Bill Michaels (paraphrasing) We’ll do our best, worry about what we can control, and if we make the playoffs, so be it. If not, so be it….

Carlos, McCann, and the Heat of the Moment

Kyle Lohse threw an 89 pitch complete-game shutout last night!  Against the NL East Champion Atlanta Braves no less!  It was breathtakingly amazing!

THAT should be the story of last night’s Brewers game.  Unfortunately what many fans and media are talking about today is not Kyle Lohse’s near perfect outing.  It is instead The Bench Clearing Brawl.  And though I’d much rather talk about Lohse’s diving sliders and sexy curves and gloriously movement-laden fastballs and perfectly placed changeups, I’ll add to the pile and give you my thoughts on The Bench Clearing Brawl – as a Brewers fan and as a baseball fan.

I do not defend the actions of Carlos…

3-2-1 LAUNCH!!

So here it is!  My new website.  All my old blogs from frontrowamy.net are here and I plan to add new entries on a regular basis.  The offseason is fast approaching, so my blogs may not always be Brewer related, but I’ll try to keep them interesting and will definitely ask for fan input on what you’d like me to write about.

Also featured on the site, as you can see, are lots of pictures.  I will be adding photos on a regular basis as well.

Many fans have asked if I have a Front Row Amy t-shirt.  I’m working on…

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

I’m all about the Brewers, but as many of you know, my saving grace in the offseason is Badger Basketball. I love them!!!!! So so much.  They keep me sane during this long, winterous baseball void which is the offseason. I attended UW Madison my freshman year, and would’ve stayed for my college career…but my boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband, went back to Oshkosh. I followed. I’m glad I did. BUT I STILL consider myself a Badger alumni.

I’m not a basketball officianado by any means. I’m still learning about the game. My husband usually watches…

Glass Half Full

Before I begin, I just wanna say….Only 88 days until Opening Day!!!!!!!!!!

As the 2013 season approaches, we Brewers fans are not COMPLETELY sure what the team will look like on April 1st, though we have a pretty good idea.  Same offense – damn good.  Re-tooled bullpen – improved, in my opinion, with no Parra and no Loe (nothing personal of course).  And a young starting rotation with question marks.  So this season could either be surprisingly (I wouldn’t be surprised, but national media would) good, or horribly bad.  And a fan’s anticipation of the direction this team will take in 2013 probably depends a lot…

No Crying In Baseball

I have been fielding a lot of hate lately. Guess that’s par for the course. Some people criticizing me for not being a fan of the Brewers/baseball for years and years – since I was a little girl.  Well, I guess I’ll address that & also tell you how I feel now – crazy as it may be.  Some people are hateful and judgmental, but I’m an open book anyway. I hate the hate, but when I share my feelings, I guess I invite it. Oh well…so be it…here goes.

My Mom and Dad got divorced when I was two years old….

One of my faves :)

Brauny "flying around the bases. 9/25/08Ok I have to preface this with a smidge of an explanation.  I wrote this back in 2008.  I had a 20 game season seat package back then & I had purchased this single seat about a month before because I wanted to sit in the front row .   I did not own Seat 5, Row 1, Section 117  then.  I did not dream I would EVER own this seat back then.  But there I sat.  And part of the reason I decided to purchase the seat I…

Congratulations T-Rats!

Congratulations Timber Rattlers!  You were already my Champions and now the label is OFFICIAL!  You did it!!  I knew you would .   It is bittersweet though, isn’t it?  I’m sure you feel a bit more than a little twinge of sadness that this special season is now over, while at the same time feeling immeasurable elation that you won it all.  I’m right there with you.  Chris Mehring’s call of that last pitch brought happy and sad tears all at once on my drive home from Miller Park.  I, through you, had won a trophy and lost a Kwan-filled team all…

To My T-Rats

Me-TRats-300x187To My T-Rats:

Tonight it begins. The MWL Championship Series!  Oh heck, let’s just call it the World Series shall we? The fact that it’s Single-A ball doesn’t make it any less important, any less exciting, any less meaningful than a World Series would be to Major Leaguers and to their fans. For you, the players, and for me, the wildly enthusiastic and supportive fan, this IS the World Series.

I am so proud of you guys!  You know, it’s very easy and common in Single-A ball for players to focus on their own statistical accomplishments. To want to do the best they can,…

Adam Greenberg

adam_greenberg_autograph2So as some of you know, I’ve adopted a cause. Adam Greenberg. He’s a cub, yes. But that shouldn’t matter. Take off your Brewers hats and put on your baseball caps.  He’s a baseball player!!  Adam Greenberg was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat with the Chicago Cubs. All these guys dream about their whole lives is to get to the Bigs. Here’s this guy who finally gets his chance and BAM! It’s over.  Probably the worst thing that could happen…happened.  He was hit by a pitch in the HEAD in his…
